Thanks Kid & AB.

Here's a couple others I was toying with that I ended up not using:

If you want to use any of them, feel free. I'll probably be coming up with some new ones shortly anyway....as you an see, mine don't have a very long lifespan.....   8)

I don't like to play spoilsport here but I do think that if everyone had an animated av, it would give me migraines (and I'm not even susceptible to them!) :o

I liked Agent's previous animated av—it was more subtle. Though these are very well done! :)

No you're exactly right, KC. That's why I hesitated in the past to use them - cuz they can be "loud." They are fun to make, though. It was a slow weekend...as you can see.  ;)

That BANG is pure gold. How great would that have been if they included that graphic in the movie?

I remember downloading some animation software (I think it was free or had a free trial) years ago from an outfit called JASC.

I think that company has been taken over by Corel now. Corel has something called Animation Shop, but it costs $39.00.

I had an animated av for a few days when the new board started up several years ago. Then I got tired of it. As I said above, I think if many people had these the board would be unreadable.

For the record, here's what I had to say about 'em in another thread ...

I'd just like to remind everyone that we strongly discourage people from using animated avatars on this Board. They could slow down the loading of pages, in the first place, and in the second place, they are very distracting to people who are trying to read through a thread. (Even though those of us using Firefox can easily avoid that distraction by hitting Escape. ;) )

Matt's Unforgiven av is so subtle that it might be an exception.

Matt's Unforgiven av looks like this:

Those last four were meant just as a joke.  8)

They can be thrown together in a few minutes. Most of the better software DVD players (such as WinDVD) can record and save short clips from movies. They are then edited/trimmed & shrunk (to 65x65 pixels) with any available program (in this case ImageReady - a program I rarely use, which came packaged with Photoshop). But you can take regular photos and 'morph' them, such as the one below, but those take can take longer to make, depending. The trick is to make them the smallest file size possible, as everyone doesn't have broadband.

I am to have surgery on my right hand on Friday so I wont be able to type very well for a week or so.    I will join in when I can with one finger typing.  Mostly I will just read what is going on.   Just thought I would let you know why I will be 'quiet' for a while.   Good thing is I will be able to sit and watch lots of Clint movies without feeling guilty.   ;) ;)
