Ok, just revisited The Rookie, by way of finally adding it to my DVD collection, just finished watching it in fact, I was reminded by the final scene at the airport, where Clint could of possibly made a couple of 'in joke' remarks linked to Two of his most famous characters, in this case, possibly both Harry Callahan and The Man with no Name
I'm probably not word perfect on these quotes but for example, Clint states
"Can you believe that security guard only had 5 bullets in his gun, how about that"
A possible reference to the 6 shots or 5 scenario from Dirty Harry
then, immediately following this Clint turns to Sheen and continues;
"Didn't I tell you to always aim for the Heart"
Which suspiciously resembles Clint's teasing comments to Ramon during the climax of Fistful of Dollars
Just a coincidence or an example of Clint having a bit of fun with his past characters?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
