There have been a few terrible penalties loses lately. England (though that's not a shock), the USA, and Brazil. Jeez.

I felt better about the U.S. women losing when I saw the Times story, and realized how much it meant to Japan. Congrats to the World Champion Japanese women's soccer team!

I need some soccer fans expertise to determine what country's shirt this is from the 1978 FIFA World Cup? I found this picture of me yesterday from back then and it puzzled me as I was never a big soccer fan and I don't remember this shirt but I was just curious as it isn't green and gold of Australia. I don't even know if the Aussies made the world cup in 1978?  :-\

Anyone know?

England marked their first match of 2013 with an impressive 2-1 win over Brazil at Wembley Stadium.

This was one of the many pictures we took on Wednesday 6 February. :) Great seats and great to see England win! :D
