Since we're getting a lot of YouTube.com links in the Endless, Pointless Thread I figured we'd start up a thread just for YouTube links. Here is one my favourites right now. It is a clip from The Daily Show looking back at a segment they used to have which featured Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert. http://youtube.com/watch?v=BzdccjXleXgColbert: Tonights topic... Carell: Dutch prostitutes. Do they deserve governmental protection. Yeeeesss. Colbert: N... what? Carell: YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS! Colbert & Carell: Lighting round! Carell: Two words Stephen, Dow 10,000. Colbert: White water. Carell: Welfare reform. Colbert: Monicagate. Carell: Eight years of peace. Colbert: SHUT THE **** UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! The Halloween part is great as well.

youtube.com is a resource I have yet begun to explore fully, but I totally love it. For those interested in Iwo Jima, here's a featurette (I don't know what else to call it) showing clips of the actual battle and the raising of the flag, and the narrative is of the type you won't hear today. on to Iwo Jima

I like the series of videos by the elderly gentleman Martin, and his wife Teresa. Martin started posting videos about his life and the war, but then he died. His wife posted about her loss, and how much the You Tube community helped her. It has turned into a community thing, and it's really cool to see how the web can bring people together and help them. Here is Teresa's first video after Martin died: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXQO9ypnou0In my favourites I also have, among others: David Letterman's first show after 9/11, when Dan Rather cried on air: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k26nH6ZpWy0You Tube is also good for nostalgia of days gone by. News footage of the era-defining Thatcher resignation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTDS23DY670And, for cheese from my childhood, the video of Kylie and Jason singing Especially for You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crUXBVSmIQo Mainly I use You Tube for watching American news TV that I can't get here.

This is from the opening of the 2006 Emmy Awards hosted by Conan O'Brien. The South Park bit in part 1 is great as well. I love part two's song and dance number. Part 1Part 2Some good quotes: Conan: Look! I found a hatch. Hurly: Dude, you don't wanna go down there. Conan: I've gotta get to the Emmys. You wanna come with me? Hurly: Well... we weren't exactly invited. Conan: Really? But you won last year. Nothing make sense anymore! Conan: The Emmys are being telecast on NBC this year. Which means half way through the show the Emmys will be cancelled. Conan: When you're handed your Emmy please don't say 'wow it's heavy'. Of course it's heavy... it contains the shattered dreams of four other people.
