Highland Plains Drifter, do you have a link? I found the information in several places (including the film synopsis on this site) but I couldn't find the number of kills.

As I recall, when we had this discussion before, there was a site for movie kills that gave the numbers for many major films. I can't find it now ... there's a "Movie Body Counts site" at http://www.moviebodycounts.com/ , but it doesn't include ANY Eastwood films.

Come to think of it, Clint was knocking out Jerries by the barrowload during that scene in the castle, so 38 might not be far off.

Incidentally, that Moviebodycount site looks pretty useless - I mean no Eastwood films! - Amateurs!!

After the Where Eagles Dare movie night last week just to clear things up a bit, and to have my fun, I decided to go back and get an official body count.  Schaffer is single handily responsible for 57 kills.  Schaffer and Mary combine to kill 10 as a team.

The break down:

#7 General Rosemeyer (Silenced Walther PPK to the chest.)

"Movie Body Counts" now credits Schaffer with 73 kills in Where Eagles Dare. However, they may not have done quite such exhaustive research.

I'm not sure I understand that chart! For instance, it says:

Kelly's Heroes (1970) (act): 139, as Pvt. Kelly-16

As Actor is 139 but Eastwood playing Kelly takes care of 16? Do they mean the total body count for the movie is 139?

I think it means the total body count for Kelly's Heroes is 139; Clint's part in it was as an actor, and in his role as Pvt. Kelly, he has 16 kills.

The list also includes films that Clint only directed, like Flags of Our Fathers (body count 93, but none for Clint personally).

Oh, "act" probably means actual... I was thinking they meant it to mean "as actor" based on what they listed above the list!
