I don't buy it (but might be just wishfull thinking).  Clint has always done the unexpected and surprised us all, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if all of a sudden out comes a film that Clint directs and stars in.  I don't see Clint as being one to just come out and decide not to act again.. it's not his style.  If a script or story comes across his desk that he likes and thinks the part is perfect for him, then he will do it although obviously his passion now is to direct

hi all,
wet blanket time..........
CE is old by any stanard, and he hasn't got the patent on living forever.
so, what are all you guys going to do when the inevitable happens to CE?
"Gee man, i can remember when ol' Clint was alive, and we used to speculate on whether he was gonna retire or not".
CE is a good actor/director, etc., but he's not a god or "the god".
CE is extremely wealthy, so much so, that i've never seen his actual worth disclosed anywhere.
We'll prolly find he owns most of Warner's and half of Maui, after he's gone.
I love the man's work as much as any other poster here, but he IS human and WILL pass on, like all of us.
Archie.

Eastwood's mother lived to be 97, so I don't think it behooves any of us here to start speculating on what we're "gonna do when the inevitable happens."

At any rate, the films will still be there and this discussion board is mainly here to discuss them.

Not my favourite topic.  I'm actually sorry I clicked on this thread for so many reasons.

God Bless the dear man no matter what he decides to do.  He's given us more than anyone every need to.

Like the Canadian lady, I'd love to see Clint appear in one more western...the co stars listed are all great and the link with
Duvall (Joe Kidd) leads nicely to Kevin Costner (Perfect World, Open Range), who is planning an epic Western called
'Horizon'. Be great if Clint had just a cameo in this as a retired marshall or gunfighter or anything, but with a hat and scarf he could go out guns blazing. With '3.10 to Yuma' just opening in the states and the critics expecting a western resurge (again!!!!), what an event it would be....how about it Clint....otherwise have a word with your other mate Spielberg and maybe pop up in Indy 4 playing golf with Sean and Harry  O0

If Milion Dollar Baby was Eastwood's last acting performance then I think the man went out on top.

Well said Perry.Like all of us on this board I´m also hoping that he would act at least once more.

I don`t think that the age-factor has to be an issue as long as he`s acting his age.Like he did in Million dollar Baby and most of his other films.I think it`s very doubtfull that he`ll act in another western or do another cop-film because those days just might be behind him.

But I´m sure there are at least few good scripts that got great part for him.Maybe something like Henry Fonda did in Golden Pond or Charles Bronson in Sean Penn`s Indian Runner...or even John Wayne in The Shootist...well that`s a western but I do hope that you`ll get my point  ;)

And I still would like to see him in really villainous role at least once.
