I think it DOES mean "as actor." As in, his connection with this film is "as actor." If that weren't the meaning, we wouldn't have this listing for Flags of Our Fathers:

Well, there seems to be some discrepancies in their totals, specificly with Josey Wales and Where Eagles Dare.  I just signed up as a member so I can go over there and “set things aright”…  Richard Earl and I both have Josey at 48 and I’m sure that Schaffers count is 57.  The only thing I can think of in Where Eagles Dare is that they have Schaffer’s kills combine with Marys and Smiths or something along those lines.  I’m going to go ahead and submit my counts for all of the Dirty Harry movies while I’m at it…
