Clicking through the channels yesterday I came across Kelly's Heroes.. I thought I'd watch it for a few minutes and ended up staying thru to the end..
Still a great movie for me.. One of my first Eastwoods and very popular with me and my school chums back in the day.. packed with gags and great star performances..
I enjoyed it as much as ever..

Happened to wake up at 3AM today and in celebration of the man's 87th birthday, decided to fall back asleep to Unforgiven. Was awake did the first 1/2 hour, then awoke to Claudia's Theme playing over the closing credits.

The screening was part of a weekly program scheduled by a known critic, which included several "old" movies. Two mules was double billed with Johnny Guitar.
No matter the occasion I'm happy enough because I also had the pleasure to be accompanied by my boys.

The Eiger Sanction.... Still one of Eastwood's few mistakes. Slow, boring and outside of Vonetta McGee's beauty and Brenda Venus jogging, the movie has nothing for me to like about it. The novel by Trevanian is by far superior.

Perry, I don't think it was a mistake. The film has many things going for it including the stunning cinematography, nice supporting actors like George Kennedy and John Williams superb score. It maybe slow and one of Eastwood's weaker efforts but I still find it most enjoyable.

I hear what you are saying. The cinematography is fine. I haven't seen the movie in many years and watching it again Eastwood looks bored, Cassidy's performance is ridiculously over the top and the acting from everyone was not really convincing. I always felt Eastwood was a little over his head on this one. The movie didnt do well anyway

Sully,
with my mother. (I'd forgotten about this one. Too much going on in my life.)
Every Which Way But Loose (
We spent Monday night in a cabin the Grand Tetons. It was a lovely place, but we had some down time and I finally finished watching this.)

Im watching four of Eastwoods war movies he acted in over this week. I've watched heartbreak ridge which was enjoyable. Watched where Eagles dare last night. It's a pretty good movie. Has some good moments in it. But for me it's slightly too long and boring at times. I plan on watching the beguiled and Kelly's heroes over the next couple of days. I always watch outlaw Josey Wales in November with all my other westerns.

The Beguiled
I've always felt Clints performance was great in this movie. All the women actresses were great too.

Kelly's heroes. Enjoyed it very much as always. Donald Sutherland really made this movie great. All the others were great too but Sutherlands character really made this movie. One of the few times that Clint gets over shadowed a bit.
