This is the place to post about Clint Eastwood films that are going to be shown on TV where you are, to inform other members and guests. This is mainly only for those Eastwood films that rarely get any TV time or special events where they might show several films in a row, or have a festival of some kind.

Use this thread also to post news about upcoming appearances by Clint on TV (and radio) talk shows.

Australian viewers with access to The World Movies Channel can catch Clint's very first screen role in Revenge Of The Creature.

It's being shown on December 5, 6, 16 & 17. Check your local guides for air times.

:)  Since when Clint had the first prize of Lumière in Lyon Festival and had to begin to filming of ' Hereafter ' and finally whom he had of the region of the honor, there is almost Clint's film every weeks!  8)  Among his films, we saw ' Million Dollar Baby ' two weeks ago for the first time and on Thursdays next, we can see for the first time on TV ' Flags of Our Fathers '!   And when for ' Letters For Iwo Jima '?? !  Soon, I hope !   ::)

There's been a slight change of title to this thread to now include interviews that Clint does on TV and Radio. Obviously there may be a few in the coming weeks/months with Invictus opening up around the world.

To get us started, I'll quote a couple of posts from the Invictus reviews and features thread ...

Clint is also on Lopez Tonight (TBS) on Tuesday December 8.

Matt [Damon] is on the Early Show on 8 December.

(Not Clint, but of interest here, of course!)

And this is from a thread AB started for Clint's appearance on Ellen Degeneres' show, also on December 8 ...

I love my neighbors here on the Warner Brothers lot -- especially CLINT EASTWOOD. (I also do a really great impression of him.) He has been in legendary roles and directed Oscar-winning movies, and he's up to it again with his new film "Invictus." He doesn't go on talk shows often, but he's decided to come here, and I'm excited! Also, in the movie he featured an a cappella group called OVERTONE, and they'll be here to perform for us.

After talking with the other Mods, I've moved several posts out of this thread and into the thread "INVICTUS: Reviews and features in the media." Except for Dan Dassow's post about the Today show (which was actually made after the show had already aired), they were all posts providing links to TV interviews that had already been seen "live" on TV and were now available on the Internet. Which is fine, but the idea with this "sticky" thread (for both Clint movies and interviews) was to use it to give people a heads-up on upcoming TV events.

Obviously, nowadays most TV interviews show up online shortly after they are aired "live," but it's still nice to catch something as it happens, and on what is still for most people "the big screen" as opposed to a small video window on your computer monitor.

Once they're available on the Net, links to them and comments can be posted in the appropriate thread. Which this time around is probably going to be the Invictus reviews and features thread. :)

By the way, the posts I moved included one of my own!  :o  ;)

All right I learned this morning that Eastwood would be on French TV tonight on "Sept à huit" (from 7PM to 8PM) on the first channel (TF1). They're doing some sort of portrait of the man they call "A Legend"  O0

Link

Our French-speaking members should be able to watch the show HERE after it airs.

Quote
A legend:

Today Clint Eastwood remains one of the biggest names in Hollywood as well as one of the most important figures in international cinema. A great career as an actor and an undeniable talent as a director. From Unforgiven to Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino and Changeling, it seems Eastwood only knows how to make masterpieces, films that inevitably win both the critics and the public all over the world. (...) How does it feel to be considered a myth? How does he explain people's fascination with him and his work? On the eve of his 80th birthday, where does he find the energy to keep going? (...)

PS: The show's starting in 25 minutes (French time).

:) Family and I came back early in the afternoon from my parents in law, to see that "live" on Channel 1, all sat to listen to him
And as ever ... Clint Eastwood smiling, talking, joking ... a perfect moment to start the year, only a few days to wait now to see "Invictus" on French screens (13rd of january) !
;) I'm sure you felt the same AB ! ;)

Sure it was nice to see him BUT the interview wasn't very in-depth and -worst part  :D it was DUBBED :( which I truly hate because you can't hear a thing he's saying.

Besides like many many other interviews, after a certain time they all sound the same. The questions are the same and ultimately so are the answers.

I know I'm being picky (and maybe a bit blase too)  :-\ ::) ;)

I hit the Remind me button so I would be sure to record The First Traveling Saleslady and saw that the movie is also set to be shown on April 1 at 11 AM EDT. I haven't seen many of the films featuring Eastwood in bit parts, so this should be interesting. Anyhow, it is nice to see that TCM is celebrating his 80th birthday!

Thanks. I did not know that TCM had a remind me button. Here is the TCM link for The First Traveling Saleslady.

I've seen it a few times.  The movie itself isn't much but Clint is great in it.  He looks so young too and it's great seeing him in color.
