Me too but she felt like nothing was left. Seeing his fiance/husband being cowardly shot in front of her and being raped by the killer was too much :(
She shoots the killer/rapist, disguises herself as a man, and embarks on a career as a bounty hunter.

Maybe that has more to do with indicating the direction of their careers than the actual time of day.  It did seem rather bright out during the showdown.
