I've been following updates on Quentin Tarantino's new spaghetti western movie Django Unchained since news broke about the project, partly to see whether he would offer Clint a role (or a cameo).

Sure, it's highly unlikely given Eastwood's preference to direct and the fact he hasn't appeared in another director's film in early 20 years. But ...

1) Tarantino's all-time favorite movie is The Good, the Bad & The Ugly
2) We know there this is some level of mutual admiration between the two
3) DiCaprio has been rumored to be the lead

I'm curious what others think of:

1) The chances of Tarantino writing/offer a role or cameo part for Eastwood (seems more likely to be a cameo at this point, since most of the casting has been announced)
2) The odds that Eastwood would be interested in such a part
3) Whether you'd be interested in seeing Eastwood in a Tarantino-directed spaghetti western, or whether you'd prefer Clint to focus exclusively on his own films

Personally I'd love to see him make an appearance--even though I don't think any western will ever touch Unforgiven--but I think the odds are slim that he'd be interested at this stage of his career.

Here's a link to the IMDB page for this movie for those interested:

I'd be glad to see Eastwood in this film, but there is no chance.
To be honest I'm expecting Mr Tarantino to pay homage to the original legendary Django by casting Franco Nero and not Clint...

I could see Tarantino offering Eastwood a role or cameo, but I'm not sure if he'd do it. It could be fun (assuming the film will be good). I think I'd really rather have one of the guys who used to make spaghetti westerns back in the day make another.

If Nero were in it, that would be cool too.

If Eastwood wasn't interested in the Spirit of the West role in Rango (and I know that nobody's sure he was even offered it, but I think it's a safe bet) then I doubt if he would do this. But if he did it could be fun.

But I gotta admit that I think if Eli Wallach agreed to a cameo here as a saloon owner or barber or something, Clint may agree to be in a scene with him.

Doubt it will happen and it really isn't needed. Tarantino will throw thousands of references our way regardless, since that's basically what his movies are all about.
