I recently created a topic I'd been considering for some time and so far there's been some positive reactions.  Films Clint Eastwood has directed but not starred in

Following in the footsteps of that,  I thought it'd be a good idea to create this one.  This will focus on the movies he directed and starred in.  I've never really looked at Clint Eastwood's film career in quite this manner and thus far it's been very interesting.  What adds to the experience is reading other's opinions.  Glancing at the titles quickly, I'd say I've enjoyed about half of them very much to the point of viewing them again.

From that list High Plains Drifter is my favourite. In fact it's my favourite Clint western. I'm not sure why but everything about it just clicks for me. From the opening credits, the music and the general tone of the film it's one of the most atmospheric westerns I've ever seen.

Definitely a good choice, Walt, and understandable.  Out of this lot it's probably my favorite, too.  The other 2 being Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales.  Funny, High Plains Drifter was on tv the other day as I was channel surfing.

Yap High Plains Drifter was on tv the other day.  It was on AMC.  They were showing Eastwood and John Wayne movies.  They showed High Plains, then Big Jake, then Two Mules for sister sara, then Hondo.

I watched this again over the weekend and for the first time, I liked it very much.  It only took 29 years...  It's nice knowing that going forward I'll continue to enjoy this film.

After watching Pale Rider, I decided to watch another Eastwood western.  This is always good to see.  For the first time, I noticed Doug McGrath as Lige was also the same actor that played Spider in Pale Rider.

I decided to round out my Eastwood western movie watching weekend with one of his best, Unforgiven.  Funny how Clint's last 3 westerns are as different as his first 3 are similar.  It's also funny that for an actor/director with as many films to his credit as Eastwood, he'll always be known as one of the greatest western movie stars.  Not funny in a humorous way, rather, peculiarly good.
