Wow, I'll have to check out The Raid: Redemption.  Thanks, Hemlock.  I definitely am looking forward to Escape Plan.

I just reserved a copy via my library.  Looks like I'll be getting the unrated version.

I think the best action film for ages was The Raid:Redemption

If you have not seen it yet,you should.I highly recommend it  O0

Btw since you guys are fans of Arnie and Sly (I´ve watch them so many years that I feel that I`ve earned the right to call them by their nicknames  ;D ) are you looking forward Escape Plan ?

You`re welcome...I wonder how much more brutal the film can be as it is pretty violant already as it is  ???

Btw they`re making sequel: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2265171/?ref_=sr_2   not much of info yet though.

Yeah, but it's always possible to be more violent.  Not only that, but unrated could also mean more vulgarity and possibly nudity.  It appears this is the only version available, options can be limiting when borrowing from libraries but I'm still glad the resource is available, rather than buying.  If I like this one, I'll be keeping an eye out for the sequel.

Oblivion (2013)

I liked this movie.  The story held my interest, the effects were very good and plenty of action.  Tom Cruise is a very decent action movie star.  I thought he was great in Jack Reacher regardless of all the complaints about his height being all wrong in comparison to the novelization.  That's perfectly understandable but for me I loved it and it'd be great to see sequels.  Back to Oblivion, I thought it was very entertaining.

Wow, Brian, it seems to be a very nice movie. I love Tom Cruise and I'm sure it will be one of my favorites.  :)

^^^^^^^

Hated this one.IMO Cruise's worst film in years.Felt sorry for Mr.Freeman.At this stage of his career he should choose his roles carefully. The director's previous effort (Tron legacy) was a pleasant surprise, but this film was a huge mess.

Wow, sorry you were so disappointed, Antonis.  Looks like your loss is my gain.  I'll take Oblivion over Vanilla Sky, Minority Report and Eyes Wide Shut any day.

You're very welcome, Natalie  ;)  My pleasure  O0

Out of the 3 Cruise travesties I just mentioned, I'd probably give Minority Report another try but definitely not the other two.  I enjoyed those about as much as Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind....which was not at all.  No offense intended to those who did enjoy them.  I just found no entertaining qualities in them whatsoever.  Getting back to Cruise, I enjoy his Mission: Impossible series, moreso the last 2.  I happened to be in England when I saw the third one and to me it's still the best.  One of my favorites is The Last Samurai.  Others by him I especially enjoy are The Firm, A Few Good Men and especially Rock Of Ages.  That last one was a very amusing musical comedy, of which I wrote about here:  Comedy Films! (& TV)

I've seen the last movies you mentioned (The Last Samurai, The Firm, A Few Good Men, Rock of Ages and all his "Mission" ones) but I also like Top Gun. The problem with this movie is that it says a lot of wrong things about planes and generally Air Force (my brother is a pilot and he knows about these things).

Anyway, for girls, Tom Cruise will always be a very handsome guy.  :)

OK,now you made a point.Eternal Sunshine was so boring....

I suppose we can at least come to an agreement about Cruise's best role ever:

Well, for me I'd have to go with Megan Fox over Tom Cruise....   ;)

Absolutely.....

(There were some speculations a couple of years before for a spin off based on Cruise's character, but unfortunately nothing happened.)

Maybe they're waiting for him to look like that without makeup!  :D

Hope you don't mind me chiming in here before you, Antonis...I didn't like Tropic Thunder much but I did enjoy what Robert Downey, Jr. did in it.

As I said (seriously) his best role so far.
